Another dancing mask. At this particular shindig there were three altogether. Some say that the masks dance on their own, with nobody inside. I think the music could just about make that happen but you might have to watch the video to find out :)
Sigh, one of the beautiful wooden boats in the village. The village is located in a chain of coastal lagoons, so like Ganvie, a small boat is a great way to get around.
Drying the centre spines of palm fronds. They are a light, strong and versatile building material. Good for making stilts out of as well. Stilts? What am I talking about? Now don't tell me you didn't watch the last video....
Working on the next episode of our Africa vids. Back to the Voodoo with a mask dance at a village near Ouidah. It was a blast. Disappointed to find that my audio tech did not capture the music well with the rhythmic and tonal shifts. Sigh...
