In the TV game show #MatchGame Brett Somers made a point to let the audience know when Charles Nelson Reilly wasn't wearing any socks. Charles was cremated and Brett was buried. It's presumed that neither of them are currently wearing socks.
Its #MatchGame 1973 Ep 94 with contestant Charlene kissing McLean Stevenson while Betty White and Gene Rayburn offer support.

I feel it's also important to point out that in the 60s & 70s there were censorship issues where many shows had to tone down risque humor. In 1963 #MatchGame ratings were low so Dick DeBartolo used double-entendre wording to get past the censors while making the game funnier for a mature audience.
Today I Learned that the primary person responsible for the "Fill In The Blank" questions in The #MatchGame were by Mad Magazine's Dick DeBartolo! There were others too, but his name stands out.

The #MatchGame 's "hard seat" was located bottom right: the last seat Gene Rayburn turned to so their answers needed to be unique. These funny ladies were placed there on purpose, cuz they were that good. The roster included Betty White, Marcia Wallace, Fanny Flagg, and Patti Deutsch.
