Front of both packages, hanging on legs in a store.

Pac-Man Game Keyring is a simple, black and gray LCD version of the game. It has an arcade accurate maze layout, albeit with less dots.

Pac-Man Arcade in a Tin is a foldable version with a full-color screen. I'm not sure which version of the actual game code it is, but not precisely emulated since the screen is horizontal instead of vertical.

#MazeMonday I saw these two Pac-Man games at a roadside stop in February 2025: Pac-Man Arcade in a Tin and Pac-Man Game Keyring. Didn't buy either, I'm afraid. (Those are Tetris versions of the same things behind each.) #PacMan

#MazeMonday One of a few #PacMan energy drinks that have come out this century. Sadly, I no longer remember the order of them and the cans don't have dates on them.

I only ever saw these on sale in stores with video games, never a grocery store or convenience store.

#MazeMonday It's been a busy week, so what you get today are two displays of retro video game decorative and housewares with more than a few #Pacman items included. I took these in a Hobby Lobby in November 2024.

[The back cover: mostly yellow text on a red background.]

When Midway Manufacturing introduced the Pac-Man™ arcade game in late 1980, there were many who doubted that a maze-based game could compete against the "space invader" games that were so prevalent. They were wrong! Pac-Man experienced a meteoric rise in popularity. It took the nation and the world by storm, and following in its wake was a stream of Pac-Man products that were gobbled up by its fans.

Over the past twenty years, it has been estimated that there were over five hundred different Pac-Man related items manufactured. This new book catalogs many of them with complete descriptions and 415 color photographs. It covers everything from the games themselves to plush Pac-Man figures, from magazines and puzzles to videos and animation cels. Each includes a guide to today's market value. A must-have book for Pac-Man maniacs!

#MazeMonday "Pac-Man Collectibles: An Unauthorized Guide" by Deborah Palicia is exactly what it says. This 2002 guide to #PacMan merchandise is a fun romp with plenty of photos. I missed it when it came out, but when a whole stack of them showed up at Ollie's for cheap, I bought a copy. Or five.

A pair of matching, short, Pac-Man drinking glasses showing opposite sides. One side is the popular image of the time of Pac-Man chasing the four ghost monsters, all five with arms ending in mittens. Except this is only printed with three colors, do the ghosts are red, orange, yellow, and orange. The Pac-Man logo is above them. It has a 1982 Bally Midway Mfg. Co. copyright notice.

The other side is a portion of a maze. Black background with Pac-Man, a couple ghosts, some dots and an Energizer are present.

#MazeMonday My mother picked up this pair of #PacMan glasses from an estate sale or thrift store recently. They have familiar 1982 imagery, but only printed in three colors, so the host monsters look weird. I'm more used to seeing it in full color on mugs.

A repeating pattern of identical Pac-Man mazes. Each row is offset to the horizonal halfway point of the mazes above and below it.

The text at the top, where the scores would be, says, "NO. 1 HAPPY BIRTHDAY NO. 1." There are only a smarting of dots and one energizer eaten. All four ghost monsters are out of their starting box which has the text, "HAVE FUN!," in it. Pac-Man is about to eat a birthday cake with a single candle on it where the fruits normally appear. The spot where Pac-Man starts says, "ENJOY!"

The four typically empty areas above and below the side tunnels have four different items in them. One is either a pink balloon on a short string or a lollipop on a stick. Another is possibly a milk shake with a straw. The third is a wrapped candy. And the fourth is a soft serve ice cream cone.

At the bottom the player has three lives on the left. On the right are, from right to left (because that's the way the fruits indicating the levels are added): a white present with blue ribbon and bow, an ice cream cone, a light green balloon, a shorter white present with a red ribbon and bow, and a party hat.

#MazeMonday Pac-Man birthday gift wrap. Back during the era of Pac-Man fever, Hallmark was one of Midway's many licensees and produced many items, including gift wrap. I found this in a thrift store in the '90s! I've included photos with and without flash. The colors are truer in the former. #PacMan

A folder with a navy blue background and edge. Inside the edge is a thin, white border with an inner, wide, purple border. Inside the borders sits Pac-Man at the lower left with arms ending in white, four-fingered gloves and brown shoes, but no legs. To his right is a row of fruit: apple, peach, strawberry, and cherries. The word "portfolio" in the Pac-Man font is at the bottom.

The four ghost monsters each have a label with their name next to them. Pinky and Blinky are flying through the middle of the folder going right. Clyde is sweating as he tries to escape Pac-Man's mouth. Inky sits atop the Pac-Man logo up top, smiling and facing the viewer with both arms extended. Oh, yes, all the ghost monsters have arms ending in tan mittens.

There are some dots and energizers in the background of the scene, but no maze walls.

The image on the other side of the folder is identical, except it also included a UPC.

#MazeMonday I did a binder for Star Wars Sunday yesterday, so today Pac-Man gets folders. I bought both these at the same time c. 1982. Can you tell which I used and which I didn't? I believe there's a third design that I'm not sure why I didn't also get. Maybe Kmart (IIRC) didn't have it? #PacMan

#MazeMonday This plush #PacMan is not something I had as a child, but one I bought off eBay in the '90s. This Pac-Man design was available with at least one other shirt. His bottom is stuffed with nut shells to help him sit. The rest is stuffed with, well, read the tag.

#MazeMonday One of my mother's friends made this and gave it to her in the last few years. She then gave it to me. (My mother is also a Pac-Man fan.)
