I started a project 10 years ago to build my own #memex and now that I can train it with my own corpus based on precedent set by #Anthropic I'm 100% sure I can make better models than $10 billion companies and I'll have the hardware to do it in 2, developing my own tools on commodity hardware.

@whitemice @helge ...maybe worth a read. to me the story of #MEMEX from vennevar bush was always the most inspiring story going into the hc style of applications.
but also ted nelsons ideas of #xanadu are still worthwhile to be considered too […]
To be clear, the technical proposal on this 🧵 is motivated by my interest in #memex use cases, where having a searchable timestamped heap of richly-linked structured data is invaluable
Other usage models for #atproto systems are far more interested in the ups + downs of being social in the moment
