Charlotte’s design is one of my most popular. Maybe it’s just because she’s a FNAF character redrawn as a pretty lady, but regardless, she’s fun to draw, especially with her lack of bones. She gained more humanlike and mature proportions as her design developed, but she was actually originally meant to veer into the uncanny valley. Much like the Marionette she was based on, she was meant to look “Creepy but kind of endearing”, but judging by people’s reactions, my artstyle only captured the second half of that. Her mask is actually meant to lack a nose, but when I stopped drawing noses on characters, that phased out. You could argue that helps visually humanize her though. Her hair is a departure from the hairstyles Charlie Emily got in any FNAF material, which helps hide the reality of who she is at least. She has straight-cut bangs often seen on creepy goth girls, even covering half of her eyes and giving her an intimidating look. To avoid her body blending into the black hair behind her, she has a huge patch of white hair behind her like Stocking, and to fill more empty space, she has a Monster High-style streak in her hair. Her sharp teeth were inspired by some of her other counterparts, like Nightmarionne. Another detail is her tear-streaks instead being markings that reach over her face, no longer making it look like she’s just crying.

The Light that once shined upon the one World, the one universe, its radiance bringing bliss and healing to all its Light could reach. This Light was guarded by the ruling family, Queen Serenity’s family, for ages untold. Their Kingdom was at the center of this World, ranging far and vast, but not infinitely. And alas, in a dark corner of that universe, beyond their rule, the judgement of two Gods lead a sorceress into a twisted path of immortal hatred. Waging and inciting wars, Salem had sought to snuff out this Light and end all existence, but Queen Serenity managed to stop her at the last minute. Weakened but unkillable, Salem retreated lest she be banished, leaving a dying Queen Serenity to seal away Kingdom Hearts so the surrounding masses of Grimm that were eating away at this World consume it as well. And so, Kingdom Hearts’ Light rests in wait, in the last place anyone would search, a place so dark even Salem cannot hope to reach. Few have sought it, some for benign reasons like Ruby, only to be talked down, while others for selfish purposes like Xehanort, only to face defeat. The Master of Masters himself believes this sacred World of Light is the key to purging Darkness from the Multiverse forever…

Kingdom Hearts’ Light was always beautiful, it was always radiant, but the strongest lights cast the strongest shadows. Such is the case here. Queen Serenity long theorized that the World of Light she protected would create a World of Darkness, and indeed, her theory rang true. A World of Pure Darkness came into existence in light of Kingdom Hearts being sealed away, but its Darkness was unlike anything Salem brought with her. Those exposed to it found it soothing, mesmerizing even, bringing about healing and change, shielding people’s eyes from harsh lights that could harm them. For many human or otherwise, this was a wonder to be cherished, but those who craved power for themselves naturally craved it as well. As some began warring over it, an uneasy alliance between a Goddess of Light and Belial Aensland saw fit to seal it away, never to be abused again, its shadow still seeping through. Marluxia had learned of this world and the shining door he needed to break through to find it. He had hoped to use Sora for this purpose, but alas, it was not to be. Still, with each Heart of Pure Darkness Sora bonded with, he felt it more in his own Shadow. Its comforting Darkness a far cry from the Heartless he had grown to disdain. The same could not be said for the Master of Masters, who saw this as a vile pall on all Light.
