A charming vintage 1960s 70s one of a kind handmade hammered sterling silver and bronze figural Dragonfly design statement brooch. Really a knockout! Makes an incredible statement on a black blazer! Entirely handmade of hand forged and hammered heavy gauge sterling silver double 'wing' sections jointed to a hang forged bronze 'body' of the 'dragonfly'. In any case, a superb unique piece of wearable modern art! This wonderful brooch measures 2.75" across by 2" tall, and weighs a sturdy 9 grams total. Unmarked, and no doubt originally sold in an art gallery in NYC's Greenwich Village or Provincetown, or perhaps an outdoor art fair, and came with paperwork or labeling from the maker that has been lost over the years. In any case, a whimsical and wonderful statement brooch perfect for an art opening or museum visit, or really any occasion that you want to feel special! Tested and guaranteed to be as described. From the estate of a NYC collector who traveled the world for her career in publishing, and collected unusual and interesting pieces of wearable art along the way. Excellent vintage condition.
