Metal Mack: A Mega-Sized New Homebrew For Genesis Independent game studio BitBeamCannon, based out of Knoxville, has been working on a very Mega Man-inspired platformer for the Sega Genesis (and Steam too). It’s called Metal Mack, and the influence is just barely disguised. Instead of Dr. Light you have Professor Photon, instead of Rush you have Rusty. etc. The year is 20XX and the world is in peril. Photon converts his most advanced android into a powerful attack robot and sends him out to make scrap metal of the evil machines running rampant. The wildest thing about Metal Mack is that it’s also coming out for the Neo Geo…physically. The Neo Geo was SNK’s super-high-end console from the early 90s that no one could afford except adult collectors. The games came on giant cartridge boards that cost $700 in some cases (in 90s money). Metal Mack’s Neo Geo cart doesn’t run the bill up quite that much, but $325 is still a wild amount for a homebrew game. Don’t panic though…there’s a Metal Mack for every […] The post Metal Mack: A Mega-Sized New Homebrew For Genesis appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.
