Hubble Space Telescope image of the Sagittarius Dwarf Irregular Galaxy (SagDIG). This ancient galaxy, located 3.5 million light-years away, is surprisingly old despite its low metallicity. Its study reveals insights into the early universe and galaxy formation. The image shows a dense collection of stars, many of which are ancient.
