Sometimes I'll read a book and have to pause because a scene hit me so hard that I need time to process, and then sometimes I get stuck in anticipation of what's going to happen next. Then sometimes it happens 5x in a row and I'm halfway through the chapter and I'm never finishing #MetalfromHeaven.
Some of my favorite (nonspoiler) quotes:

- "I worried abstractly about having grown out past little fawn into something gruesome and lanky with horns."

Having now finished #MetalFromHeaven, I can definitively say that it has forever changed my view of what a book can be. It's so good it's making me regret that I don't have, like, a blog or a YouTube channel because I need to tell everyone how incredible it is. Do yourself a favor and go read it!

Completely enraptured by Metal From Heaven (August Clarke). It's such a visceral read, and the extent to which it ticks every box I might imagine is inspiring.
I could never have written this book, if only because I would have felt monumentally over-indulgent.

I've personally stopped using GoodReads in favor of #StoryGraph but even there it's still only at 455 reviews. This book is fantastic and I've been describing it like Stone Butch Blues meets the Princess Bride and The Locked Tomb
I loved the #metalfromheaven lore and hope it's expanded upon more.
