As part of @wmata.com #MetroRewind they shared that the 70 / D40 bus route along Georgia Avenue carries the most riders in all of Metro's network. We should #RethinkGeorgiaAve and the potential it has to safely move even more people faster and provide safer access to and from these bus routes.

I’m in the top 0.8% of all riders for 2025
Selfie with my office wall, showing my top 1% decor earned in 2024. I also have a now-obsolete system map that includes major bus routes and some map art of my old hometown of Mount Rainier, MD.
It was a busy morning but I’m hiding from my next meeting so I can share my @wmata.com #MetroRewind
As I’ve noted before, I think my bus rides are undercounted due to broken fare boxes/boxes not turned on. With the box replacement project complete, hopefully next year I’ll have a personal best!

my metro rewind stats: 113 total trips, top 21% of riders 22 stations visited, 314 miles traveled, 96kg carbon cut archetype is the mascot because i use metrorail to get to nats games my top bus route is the S9 because all my friends live in petworth
once again my #metrorewind stats look terrible because i am burdened with the ability to walk to work and most local businesses. a curse upon northwest DC!! i curse my human-centered and self-sufficient fifteen minute city!!

DC has a few of these, too. My trip to work is a reverse-commute from DC to MD, and the skip-stop S9 bus is usually at least as fast as the train, and it's a one seat ride instead of requiring a transfer.
(Which is why my #MetroRewind is always a bit distorted... bsky.app/profile/swid...)
