The battle occurs in a close space (a train station, even if that's not clear in the image) where the dnd party is facing a mutated phoenix the size of a dragon. The focus of the drawing is the "phoenix" slowly walking on all fours toward another figure, Èmerie, an elf in a long princess-like dress standing proudly face to face with the monster. The other party members are also dressed fancy since the initial attack happened during a masquerade that they were all attending nearby. The phoenix (who is actually the second phase of Alessia, an enemy of the party who swore to destroy Èmerie's family and submitted herself to experiments in order to become more powerful thus gaining this phoenix form) is ignoring the other party members as it advances towards Èmerie.
