Sky guardian, piloted by Hikaru. An agile mech sporting a white and dark blue color scheme and is equipped with a blaster on one hand and a sword on the other. This was the most straightforward of the builds. Helps that I've built mechs using white and blue pieces(albeit in this case dark blue instead of normal blue). I kept the wings and blaster as close to the set as possible. Notable changes being a right hand to hold the blaster, waist rotation, and a redesigned sword.
Blade titan, piloted by Takeshi. A heavily armed mech in a white and dark red color scheme sporting a blade shield on one arm and a gattling gun on the other. This one was more challenging due to being a bulkier mech than what I'm used to. I also tried to give it some connection to the sky guardian by giving them similar limbs. Notable changes where hands, a redesigned gattling gun, and the position of the blade shield. I really wanted it to be able to use the blade shield as a shield like in the box art. This also the first time I've used dark red.
Iron condor. A black and yellow mech capable of flight thanks to its large birdlike wings and is equipped with a blaster with a blade at the end. Very much the mirror opposite to the sky guardian. One thing I liked was how the robots battle machines progressively became more animalistic in design. As such, I depicted the iron condor as a transitional unit from year 1 to year 3. Notable changes where a blade added to the blaster, hand rotation, and digitigrade legs complete with talons. Not gonna lie, the black and yellow gives me blacktron 1 and atlantis vibes.
Shadow crawler. A quadrupedal mech in a black and lime green color scheme equipped with two different blasters. A stealthy mirror to the blade titan. Would you believe me if I said mocs for this one were nonexistent? This one is the closest to the original set. I think the lime green contrasts nicely with the black. I am very much reminded of the creatures of the atlantis line. Only notable change was that I changed the shadow crawler from a tripod to a quadruped.
So, I decided to redesign some of the LEGO Exo-force sets. Outside of Bionicle, this was a theme I was into back then. I chose theses mechs since they don't get as much love as the first year sets. #lego#mecha #legomocs #mocs
