When I talk about #spyware, I am often asked - but what about #Russia?

#Monokle is an example of spyware made by Russian defense contractor, sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Dept - Special Technology Center.

This spyware is not 0-click, but is still quite invasive & dangerous.

6/ Back in 2019, #Lookout didn't just analyze the #Monokle spyware...

They attributed it to the Special Technology Center, a sanctioned Russian defense contractor that also makes drones & was linked to US election interference.

5/ The #spyware allowed the #FSB to monitor Parubets' communications & movements.

And as @cooperq.com & our team dug in, it was clear that suspicions harbored by Parubets & the First Dept. were right: it looked a lot like #Monokle family spyware, first reported on by #Lookout security in 2019.
