It's about the town of #Mounana in #Gabon, where after 50 years of relative prosperity mining uranium for the French #nuclear industry, they were left to their own devices in 1999 when the mine closed down. I recut the film's evocative #8mm #homemovie footage from the 1960s to provide the backdrop.
The town went from having everything to being pretty much abandoned, with minimal efforts made to help the locals with the transition.
