Alien V Predator Plot In 2004, on a small island off the coast of Antarctica, a heat blast gets the attention of Weyland Industries CEO, Charles Bishop Weyland. He hires a team of scientists, mercenaries, drillers, and rock climbers to explore a mammoth pyramid hidden almost a kilometer below the surface. But once they arrive, they discover that not only is it full of Xenomorph eggs waiting to hatch, it is also owned by the alien creatures known as Predators. Direction Directed by Sci Fi experienced director Paul WS Anderson. The 'American' PG-13 rating is very evident however, with comically bad blood - and lack of any real violence or gore.

From Dusk Till Dawn Plot Criminal brothers, Seth and Richard Gekko have just robbed a bank, killing several people - and taking a woman hostage. They kidnap a family, led by ex pastor Jacob, and his children Kate and Scott, to get from Texas through into Mexico, to meet up with their friend in secrecy. Once there, they hold up in the strip club, Titty Twister, where a night of drinking to celebrate their win turns to chaos, when the simple biker bar becomes a haven for a vampire attack. If I had Legs I’d kick you Plot Linda is a mid 40s psychotherapist. Her daughter is currently fighting an illness that requires her to have a feeding tube at night, and her husband is working away from home. One day a hole appears in the roof of her apartment, which causes a massive flood - and while repairs are going on - she and her daughter must stay in a nearby local motel/hotel. Sleep deprived from midnight feedings and her belonging in the world, she begins to have what is possibly the worst weeks of her life.

The Spy Who Loved Me Plot When a British and a Soviet submarine carrying nuclear weapons go missing, the MI6 and KGB put their best agents on the case; Commander James Bond, and Major Anya Amasova... code-names 007 and XXX. Little does Bond know, he recently killed in combat the significant other of Amasova... and she is eager to end the man who ended her man. Direction Directed by Lewis Gilbert, who would go on to direct the following Bond film Moonraker. There are some great ups, such as the use of international settings, some use of night time lighting, and some bad in some comically bad green screen.

Bill & Ted Face the Music Plot It's 2020. It's been decades since Bill and Ted traveled through time with Death and played Battle of the Bands, with the knowledge that one day they are going to play the song that will unite the world. Now passed middle age, with daughters who admire them, and wives who 'tolerate' them - they still have not written or played the song. They are informed by those from the future (including Rufus' wife and daughter) that the future is all but doomed - if they don't perform the song within 77 minutes!

John Wick: Chapter 3 Plot John Wick is now Ex-communicado, and seeks passage to Casablanca - in order to persuade 'The Elder' the one who stands above the high table for forgiveness. Meanwhile, an agent of the High Table - known simply as 'The Adjudicator' is in town, seeking justice for those who aided and abetted John. Direction Once again directed by Chad Stahelski. It is fast paced, colourful, with improved stunt work (and great use of CGI that make it look like Reeves himself is being hit by cars and falling off buildings).

Crazy Stupid Love Plot 40's something Cal's world is turned upside down, when his wife of over 20 years tells him one night she wants a divorce following an affair. He spirals, and starts to frequent bars - telling his heartache, when he meets 20 something Jacob, a handsome and charismatic ladies man. Jacob takes Cal 'under his wing' to help "re-brand" him. Soon, Cal is 'out there' while Jacob, has met the lovely Hannah - who has broken his spell of 'one nighters' Will Hannah be the one to truly make Jacob happy?

Demolition Man Plot In a war torn Los Angeles of 1996, John "Demolition Man" Spartan has finally caught his arch nemesis, Simon Phoenix - but in the process 30 innocent civilians are killed. As punishment, he is sentenced to over 70 years in 'cryo sleep' - a futuristic prison. He is awoken in 2032, after Phoenix' own release resulted in his escape, and subsequent crime spree, in the now a non violent, peaceful world that was created by the renowned Dr Cocteau. Cocteau will do whatever it takes to keep this society in order, especially when it comes to the "scraps" who live below the surface, led by Edgar Friendly.

Now they - along with more survivors they locate along the way - try to head toward a possible sanctuary - with the prospects of a cure? Roofman Plot Jeff Manchester is former military, who will do 'anything' for his daughter... and by anything be a notorious robber of McDonalds restaurants - who always comes through the roof, giving him the nickname Roofman. His latest robbery, in which he is found out, sees him sent to jail for 45 years. He quickly escapes jail, and to avoid capture - sets up shop in a local Toys R Us. As the weeks and months drag on, his boredom gets to him, and on his many adventures - he befriends Leigh - one of the employees at the store, and strikes up a relationship with her under the pseudonym John Zorin.

The Equalizer Plot Bob is an 'every-man'. He has an 'everyday' job at a local hardware store where he is friends with all who work there. He even goes above and beyond for some of them, trying to help one man achieve his dream of being a security guard. He is plagued by insomnia, and often frequents the local diner, where he is friends with the owner, and the regulars including 17 year old prostitute Teri, who likes to call him by his full name... Robert. When Teri is beaten half to death, Bob takes it upon himself to try to do what he can to secure her freedom, but in doing so - unleashes a past within him that he long thought dormant.

Interview With the Vampire Plot Louis claims he is a centuries old vampire, and decides to tell his story to a journalist he has met. He tells the tale of his inception at the hands of Lestat, and their ventures through America and Europe in the Seventeen and Eighteen Hundreds. Direction/Cinematography Directed by Neil Jordan with Cinematography by Philippe Rousselot. The use of practical effects, as well as amazing sets, designs throughout the 1700's and 1800's are a joy to view, complemented by the year the film was made. Had it been filmed a decade later, it would have been ruined by CGI.

Ballad of Buster Scruggs Plot Six separate stories that show the exaggerated world of the wild west. Direction Written and Directed by the Coen Brothers, and it has all their charm, warmth, dramatic flair, and visual stylistics. Breakdown/Cast/Characters The Coen's have always been daring when it comes to their narrative, and this is perhaps their most daring writing to date, with six 'mini' movies within the entire 133m runtime. The Luckiest Man in America Plot In 1984, Mike Larson applies to appear on the American game sow Press Your Luck. He quickly starts winning, quite a substantial amount of money. Behind the scenes the producers scramble, when they discover that Mike may have worked out how to memorise the game from videos in his van - and try to work out what they can do to stop him. Direction Solid direction, from Samir Oliveros, with near perfect aesthetics that look and feel, and sound exactly like the early to mid 1980s. Even the score by John Carroll Kirby has has the monotone finish to it that was so present.

Toys Plot Kenneth Zevo is the owner of the a popular toy company, with a dedicated staff, and one of the chief toy-makers being his son Leslie. On his deathbed, he begs his no nonsense three star general brother Leland, to to take over the company. After his death, Leland begins to make changes to the company, by beginning to manufacture war toys - and soon begins a 'secret' mission. Leslie, believing his uncle is up to no good, plots to get the company back to the way things 'used to be'.

Knox Goes Away Plot John Knox is a career hit-man, who has just been diagnosed with a fast progressing form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a form of dementia. When his long estranged son comes to him, having killed the 36 year old man who impregnated his teen daughter begging for help - John leaps into action. He has developed a "plan" to fix both the future, and perhaps the past? With a dedicated cop on his tail (following a triple murder he committed in one of his dementia fugue states), he must contend with her too.

The Man With the Golden Gun Plot James Bond discovers that a notorious hit-man Francisco Scaramanga has put a hit out on him, and decides to find him first. He discovers that Scaramanga is also working with a Hong Kong businessman Hai Fat - in an attempt to capture the worlds solar market, and want to sell it to the highest bidder. Direction This is Guy Hamilton's fourth and final outing behind the camera. Despite it's critical panning, it has some great cinematography - and some of the best practical car stunts that would rival movies of even today's standard.

Hudson Hawk Plot Eddie "Hudson Hawk" Hawkins has just gotten out of prison after 10 years, and is automatically pressured into stealing a priceless statue for some eccentric billionaires, the Mayflowers. He discovers that they are after three pieces of a puzzle made by Leonardo DaVinci that will turn lead into Gold. With his best friend Tommy, and the secretive Anna - he is sent to Rome to assist in stealing the last two pieces. Direction Directed by Michael Lehmann, who had already cemented himself in Hollywood off the back of Heathers (something I will have to add to my 'to watch again and review list'.

The Long Walk Plot In an unknown time in American history, there has been decades of poverty following a civil war. To guide America out of its "epidemic of laziness" - there has been "The Long Walk" - in which one young man from every state competes. There are three simple rules; you must keep walking at 3 miles per hour, if you drop below you get a warning, three warnings = your "ticket". Walk off the path, you get your "ticket" without warning. Be the last person walking, you win an unimaginable cash prize plus "one wish granted instantly".

Goodfellas Plot Follows the life of Henry Hill, from his youth in New York in the mid 1950's, all the way to his adulthood in the early 1980's - and the mobsters he meets and works with. Direction/Cinematography Directed by screen legend Martin Scorsese, with cinematography by Michael Ballhause. Some fantastic use of long shots, as well as a terrific use of the "Vertigo" Dolly shot - where Jimmy and Henry are sitting in a diner booth, and the background slowly gets closer and closer... simply brilliant. The film was written by Nicholas Pileggi, journalist and widower of Nora Ephron.

Alien Resurrection Plot 200 years after her death on Fury 161, Ellen Ripley "awakens" on a military space vessel called Auriga, run by the no nonsense General Perez. She discovers that she has been cloned by scientists, and she is dubbed 'Ripley 8' by them, and they have already cloned the Xenomorph having removed it from her while 'growing her'. A group of mercenaries, led by Elgyn arrive on Auriga with human cargo, for the scientists to study the Xenomoprh's as hosts. Now, the aliens are once again loose on the ship - but Ellen - no longer human - is connected to the aliens, both physically and psychically.

John Wick 2 Plot Having gotten his revenge on Viggo and Iosef, and made peace with Viggo's family - John is called back into the fold by Santiago an Italian Crime Boss. He is the brother of Gianna D'Antonio - a member of 'The High Table' who lead the criminal underworld. His request, called by a blood marker Wick once sealed means Wick must carry out Santiago's wishes... to kill his sister, so he can take her spot on the High Table! Direction Chad Stahelski returns to direct (and will direct Chapt 3&4 too).

Top Gun: Maverick Plot Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, has been project testing a new aircraft under the leadership of Rear Admiral "Hammer" Cain. After a disaster which sees a prototype aircraft destroyed, Mav is reassigned, back to "Top Gun" - now as the trainer by his old friend and high ranking officer Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. They have been given a (seemingly impossible?) mission... to destroy a uranium enrichment plant before it becomes operational, and Mav has only weeks to train the recruits on how to fly a dangerous terrain. One of the recruits, just happens to be Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, the son of his late friends Carole and Nick "Goose" Bradshaw.

Jay Kelly Plot Jay Kelly is an aging movie star in his mid 60's, who is at a crossroads with his life; with both his work - and his children. He travels to Italy to follow his daughter Daisy before she starts college and 'leaves him' . His long suffering manager Ron struggles to stay afloat with his aloof boss, and his own family, and must put them on hold to follow Jay - meanwhile trying to organise a tribute for him, which he is not overly keen on. Direction Directed by Noah Baumbach, he co wrote this with Emily Mortimer (who also has a very small role in the film).

Wall St: Money Never Sleeps Plot In 2001, having served 14 years in prison, Gordon Gekko is released from prison. His wife and children have long abandoned him, and he must build himself up again. Seven years later, now reformed, he is on a book tour, when Jacob Moore introduces himself. He is not only a stockbroker, but also in a serious relationship with Gordon's daughter Winnie. Jacob's mentor and boss, Louis has just passed by his own hands due to inflammatory information being leaked by Bretton James, one of Louis' rivals. It just so happens, that James is the one who leaked the information that led Gekko to go to jail back in 87, and now both Gekko and Moore, plan their revenge, as well as Gekko's reunion with his daughter.

Wake up Dead Man Plot Jud Duplenticy is a newly appointed Father of the Catholic Church, who following an incident, is sent to Our Lady of Perpetual Fortitude, to work under Monsignor Jefferson Wick. Wick is a preacher whose sermons often result in the congregation either being in left awe, or leaving in disgust. He has a close "flock" of individuals who worship him. One day during a grueling sermon - Wick takes a break - and moments later is found murdered. The police led by chief Geraldine Scott, call upon famed Detective Benoit Blanc to assist...
