#MovieWatch 2026: #Mercy (2026) It starts as an AI court room drama, becomes a Mad Max car chase, stumbles into a Die Hard standoff (including a shoeless Chris Pratt) and mercifully ends with a Minority Report ripoff finale. This is a big, dumb, hot mess of a movie. 😂
Another outstanding performance by Stephen Graham in this one 👏🏽 #moviewatch #filmwatch #psychologicalthriller #stephengraham
This dropped today on Netlix & I really enjoyed it #warmachine #netflix #filmwatch #moviewatch
#MovieWatch 2026 - #TheFabelmans (2022): Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical about Spielberg’s love and pursuit in making movies. Most of the movie explores his relationship with his mother (his biggest supporter). It’s schmaltzy and ends too soon. Overall it’s good.
#MovieWatch 2026: Caye Casas' #TheCoffeeTable - Jesús and his wife are having his brother and new girlfriend over to see their new son. Unfortunately, Jesús is harboring a secret so terrible it will irrecoverably change everyone's lives. This is a high tension horror classic.
#MovieWatch 2026 Brandon Cronenberg's #Possessor (2020) Taysa is a secret agent that has the ability to "puppeteer" people via an implant. Her job is to assassinate key figures using the puppet as a patsy. An error causes the host and puppeteer to bleed together. Great but gory.
#MovieWatch 2026: Brandon Cronenberg's #InfinityPool (2023) - Nascent writer James Fostor travels to fictional La Tolqa for inspiration. Instead he ends up committing a crime and judgment is death. There is a legal loophole that will get him into more trouble. Kafkaesque horror.
#MovieWatch 2026: Ruben Östlund’s #TriangleOfSadness. This is a bizarre and surreal movie. The movie focuses on a young influencer couple: Yaya and Carl. Yaya is an admitted manipulator and must teach naive Carl her talents in order to survive. I enjoyed this satire.
#MovieWatch 2026: Raoul Peck's #Orwell 2+2=5 documentary. It tells George Orwell's life through his diary and letters he wrote. I thought this was an interesting movie that showed how Orwell learned at an early age how to education can defeat totalitarianism.
#MovieWatch 2026: Denis Villeneuve's #Incendies (2010). Fraternal twins attend the last will reading of their mother. The mother's final wish is for the twins to go and find out the history of their father and long lost brother. Incredible mystery with one hell of an ending.
#MovieWatch 2026: Ray Mendoza & Alex Garland's #Warfare (2025) Based on true events: America Navy SEALs takeover an Iraqi building to survey a group of insurgents. Quickly the surveillance turns into all out war. This movie makes you appreciate veterans. Intense & brutal.
#MovieWatch 2026: #TheRip (2026) 5 cops (including Matt Damon and Ben Affleck) find a cartel safe house containing $20 million. It’s discovered a snitch is in their crew. Decent thriller with schmaltzy ending. Worth watching if you have #Netflix.
#MovieWatch 2026: #TheLifeOfChuck based on a short story by Stephen King. It is adapted and directed by long time King collaborator, Mike Flanagan. I knew nothing going into the movie (which is the best way to see it). The movie is bizarre, beautiful, hopeful and supernatural.
#MovieWatch 2026: 28 Years Later (2025) directed by Danny Boyle & written by Alex Garland (team behind the original movie). It’s a coming of age story for Spike, a young boy living in post-zombie UK. He makes a trek across the dangerous mainland to save his mum. Excellent movie.
#MovieWatch 2026 - #Oddity (2024) is a great Ghost Story/Murder Mystery. The story follows Darcy (Carolyn Bracken) a medium who uses her psychic power and knowledge of the occult to find her twin sister’s killer. This movie takes its time setting up with a very satisfying ending.
#MovieWatch 2026 - #KurtVonnegutUnstuckInTime: Bob Weide’s documentary about novelist Kurt Vonnegut. Great movie that interviews Kurt, his children and friends about Kurt’s life. I thought the doc was really interesting and I found out a lot about his family and the man himself.
#MovieWatch 2026 - Franz Kafka’s #TheTrial adapted & directed Orson Welles. Josef K (Anthony Perkins) is awoken by an inspector and charged with a nameless crime. K goes through the judicial bureaucracy but gets more confused and ultimately gives up trying to prove his innocence.
#MovieWatch 2026 - Ari Aster’s Eddington - it’s 2020 and we are in Eddington, NM at the height of COVID. There is a petty feud between the sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and the mayor (Pedro Pascal) over wearing masks. And it escalates from there. This would be my Oscar pick.
No Other Choice
all i can say is omg. This movie left me with a hunting feeling. It was funny in the beginning until everything turned into a nightmare and desperate. PCW uses humour but for me it really was a good horror movie. Grabe ka direk 👏

#MovieWatch 2026 - Next on the list is #Frankenstein. Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro is incredible. It’s a retelling of Mary Shelley’s story from Victor and the monster’s point of view. Visually stunning and wonderfully acted. Recommend. Currently on Netflix.
#MovieWatch 2026 - #SoundOfMetal Drummer Ruben (Riz Ahmed) and his girlfriend Singer/guitarist Lou (Olivia Cooke) are a fledgling 2 piece metal band until Ruben wakes up and discovers he’s deaf. Great movie that feels more like a documentary than a movie thanks to the acting.
Heres some of my favourite films from this year, there's probably more but heres a few that comes to mind, hbu?
