Here I am in 1993, on Isla Margarita, mind blown by my 1st journey in the Venezuelan Amazon, flying in a Cessna over the great plateau of Auyán-tepui, into Devil’s Canyon, and along Angel Falls, a kilometre high. 2 of these journeys feed into the novel

This is a photo I took in 1993, on my 1st trip to the Venezuelan Amazon, it’s of a Warao (the water people) stilt hut on the Orinoco Delta. I was on a canoe with outboard motor, researching for what became my novel #MyHummingbirdFather out 15 Sept. I’ll post more later
