#LeadLAP Q2: I’m excited to hear more questions from my teammates and other teachers about what I learned from attending the #NAGC24 conference. They want to focus more on reaching their gifted and advanced learners. This could be the start of a new chapter for my school.

Love this! ❤️

One of the attendees from some of my sessions at the #nagc24 conference made this image from one of my sessions.

I stand by this statement! 😂

"What's good for neurodivergent kids is good for all kids."

Fun seeing more into the state of gifted education from a stellar mix of teachers, practitioners and researchers at #NAGC24. I'd love to see more conferences that juggle profession and scholarship like it

I was told by a prominent researcher in the field of #gifted at #NAGC24 that we should set our identification local norms at a percentile equal to the resources we have.

So, set your local norms to 95% if you can only afford to provide adv. opportunities to 5% of your students.

Thoughts?

Interesting results of a study were shared at #NAGC24 detailing parent perspectives of #gifted

63% of parents (77priv/62pub)say advanced academic classes are important

55% (68priv/54pub) would either extremely, very or s/what likely move schools if adv classes were eliminated

I loved #NAGC24 and all of the learning and thought-provoking sessions, but I am so incredibly happy to return home to this person (and our way too hyper ginger cat, Aria and our covid cat, Aloy)

If I’ve said it once…. Anyway, #NAGC24 has always been an amazing conference that is missing a key educator demographic…. school principals and assistant principals.

These are often the folks making decisions for schools re: GT, but we need to have more sessions offered that inform the day to day.

If we know that tests like CogAT, NNAT, NGAT, etc create anxiety for students and teachers AND that students perform closer to their potential after real practice of that test, why not create some kind of creative play-practice at the sign on screen for these tests w/feedback? | #Gifted #NAGC24
