Email from #NAISA2025 announced no virtual option. Having helped organize a NAISA annual meeting, I know hotels have exorbitant tech charges. One of my panels has 4 of 6 international participants. We are not in a short-term crisis. International orgs need to plan for ongoing travel dangers to US.
#NAISA video with from the 2024 Native American and Indigenous Studies Association in Norway. #NAISA2025 in Oklahoma will see reduced attendance due to international travel risks to the US. Hoping for hybrid capacity, not originally planned. I have one international panel, including Sámi speakers.
