NGC 2071 / NGC 2067 / M78 / NGC 2064 Nebulae - telescope processed image. Located in Orion, this complex is a group of reflection nebulae within the Orion B molecular cloud. M78 is the brightest, illuminated by young B-type stars. NGC 2071, NGC 2067, and NGC 2064 are fainter patches separated by dark dust lanes.

NGC 2071 / NGC 2067 / M78 / NGC 2064 Nebulae - unprocessed image. Pierre Méchain discovered M78 in early 1780. Charles Messier added the reflection nebula to his catalog that December, noting its two bright nuclei.
