Andrew Pierce on #NGGinquiry wth B'ness Spielman (formerly HMCI Ofsted which inspects(?) safeguarding in many settings) & Stephen Pound (L) former MP. Pierce: "prosecute people for failing to act." Where's that law? It doesn't exist. And the guests say nothing! Ignorance². youtu.be/0bdXPIN6htI?...
#bbcqt had a Q about the #NGGinquiry. Responses from and between the guests quickly became heated, a reflection of what is happening within the #NGG panel. Dorries concentrated on weaponising the subject rather than solutions. @mariellafrostrup.bsky.social introduced VAW, which is out of scope /1
A question asked yesterday on James O'Brien's programme - what does success look like for the #NGGinquiry? has since had me wrestling for an answer but I've drawn a blank.
Parental and 'professional' ignorance of the dysfunctional safeguarding framework will prompt some to talk nonsense.
This morning I listened to @mrjamesob.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk. A key question put to the audience was: what does success look like for the National Grooming Gang inquiry ( #NGGinquiry )? It got me thinking. With some background in this realm, including a public inquiry, there are no easy answers.

Second leading candidate to chair the grooming gangs inquiry ( #NGGinquiry ) pulls out after four survivors quit - follow live - BBC News
At today's PMQ's Starmer stated that 1200 non-recent cases of CSE/Grooming would be unable to proceed if a Judge were to lead the #NGGinquiry.
I'd welcome a suitably qualified person explaining this to me, particularly when public inquiries are mostly led by *former* members of the judiciary. Thx
On #r4today Ivor Franks, a barrister and former member of the IICSA panel, said that the Chair of the #NGGinquiry needs to be someone who is legally qualified. Of course he's correct. More important still, it must be a former member of the judiciary. Unfortunately this didn't happen at IICSA.
