THEY ARE SICK &TIRED OF AN UNDERSTAFFED HEALTH SYSTEM.
An underfunded health system increases the waiting lists every week, with more than 180 000 people waiting for their first specialist appointment and 40% of these waiting more than 4 months.
These strikes demand our public health system is fully funded and staff are treated fairly and with dignity - so everyone has access to the care they need. This is the first time in 20 years that home support workers have voted to strike. The fact that Access workers are all taking industrial action alongside senior doctors and perioperative nurses really highlights how broken the system is. Why is this an anti-fascist issue? Fascism is about attacking the collective power of working people to demand better conditions. It is the consolidation of wealth & power for those at the very top. For our health system, these attacks means those who can pay get seen, and those who can’t, wait.... and die."
