Summer solstice hike There’s something fitting about walking exposed to the elements on the longest day of the year. Not for boldness or spectacle, but for simplicity. No layers between skin and sun, between breath and wind. The rhythm of footsteps, the sound of gravel shifting underfoot, the warm air rising from the trail — all of it pulls you into the present. No hurry, no destination beyond the next turn. The body adjusts to the climb, to the light, to the warmth. Discomfort becomes a companion you work with rather than against. And as you move, you start to notice the small things: the curve of the ridgeline, the patterns in the dirt, the way the sun arcs across the afternoon sky. The trail asks little, but gives back its own kind of peace. Naked Hiking Day 2025
The trail asks little. You carry what you need. The rest you leave behind. -Summer Solstice 2025
