April is #NationalFairHousingMonth! This year marks the 57th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, a national law that prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, and gender.
To close out #NationalFairHousingMonth, a reminder that our office runs the Manufactured Housing Dispute Resolution program that provides a bridge between manufactured home owners and landlords. The program handled a record 850 complaints in 2024.

How has the NLS Housing team helped our community? 2024 by the numbers; 3659 households assisted with housing matters in WNY including 2360 in Erie Cty, 975 in Niagara Cty, 203 in Genesee Cty; 8366 people benefited from the work of NLS, including 3536 children, 503 victims of DV, 137 veterans, 734 individuals living with a disability; 1503 Evictions prevented from private, public, & subsidized housing; 1127 Evictions delayed, allowing families time to seek alternate housing; house image in background
