As many as 48,000 individuals will arrive here from northern Europe as part of #NatureInFlux, taking advantage of the more plentiful food sources. ๐Ÿคฏ

During autumn, red squirrels scour their habitats for nuts, berries & other vital energy sources. They don't hibernate, so they cache lots of this foraged food in shallow holes and tree crevices to keep them going through the cold winter months.

Look out for empty nut shells with neat circular holes chiselled into the sides โ€“ a clear sign of #NatureInFlux, as these mice try to build up food caches
