A concept design reference image for a possible costume for Necalli from street fighter 5. The concept is heavily inspired by the tale of Medusa, due to how Necalli's hair looks like a bundle of snakes just by default. The hair in this design actually DOES become snakes with some of the tips of his dreads becoming golden rattles. The snakes are meant to call back to Necalli's mexican inspiration, being that of an ancient azteca/mexica inspired entity, and are mexican rattlesnakes. The design depicts Necalli also having wing-like ears, a scar around his neck, stone crumbling off of his skin as though he were covered in a casing of stone (like he was turned into a statue) and has some crystal deposits coming out of both arms. The crystals are medusa quartz, which are found in another latin country: Brazil! Necalli's standard form has a bandage over his eyes but when in v trigger, not only do the snakes all writhe and stand up and prepare to strike, but the bandage burns away and reveals piercing red eyes, ready to turn his opponent to stone.

that time i entered capcom's sf5 costume design contest and lost to TWO juri designs

oh well.

id love to explore this design again though, i love a lot of what i was cookin' here.
