As part of the delegate promo, Danny R. Peralta answered two questions: What digital equity issues are you seeing in your communities? "Misinformation, a lack of true privacy/safety, the rampant adaptation of apps that are designed to make children addicted to them, etc. How can network building exercises lead to meaningful conversations and social cohesion while grounded on principles and the needs and visions of communities?" What does a future of liberated tech and media look like to you? "Ownership. Collectively there needs to be a pivot with the ways we consume and/or share content digital. We cannot keep feeding the objects that end up consuming us. 'For the master's tool will never dismantle the master's house.' - Audre Lorde. Imagine what it would be like if everyone turned off IG, or their twitter account for a day/week/month/year? Who would have the power then? What if we built an alternative that is not based on some racist ideology? Etc. Etc." These answers are on top of a backdrop of a desert sunset overlooking a Southwest setting and cacti.
