143612 Awaits its turn on the wheel lathe at Neville Hill. We would often see vehicles from other areas taking a slot on the lathe. It makes sense to use the nearest one whenever possible.

There’s definitely a nip in the air! 43153 Idles away to itself on the turntable at Neville Hill, awaiting a space in the shed for a bit of TLC. Those days of the Valenta engine were definitely the best!

91127 ‘Neville Hill’ up against the blocks at York after arriving with 1N81. The depot pet, though this photo was taken a while ago, it’s not so sparkling at the moment.

3309 (08239) Spent quite a few years in this spot at Neville Hill. Withdrawn in 1984, the shunter was finally cut up at Kingsbury some 21 years later in 2005.

I think this would have been around 1984, and a chance trip around Neville Hill. A BRCW Class 110, Calder Valley car stands in the middle road of the Back Fitting Shop. If you’ve worked on diesel depot, this is one of those images you can almost smell!

A great sight yesterday seeing 91127 ‘Neville Hill’ heading north out of York, destined for Newcastle. The train worked 5G90 from Neville Hill to Newcastle (via Doncaster) and back again on OLE tests.
