I remember his band at #NewportJazz around when this album came out on the smallest stage with an appreciative but not super large audience. Soon thereafter he was part of an all-star ensemble backing Hugh Masekela at international jazz fest
embarrassingly the first time I heard her (At #newportjazz in 2009) while I loved her beautiful tone I was a little skeptical. How very remarkable a jazz musician she is became obvious to me very quickly
