#nickleboys is such an amazing work of artful empathy. Staggeringly political for this moment we find ourselves in, where once again we reach for the stars as a symbol of progress, while willingly diminishing the promise of too many.

Why aren’t people talking more about Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor’s performance in #nickleboys? She’s heart-wrenching, warm and resilient, and the scene where she encounters Turner is one of the best of the year. #primevideo should give the film a streaming date this month.

Haunting, powerful stuff. While the intermittent Tree of Life-esque segments weren’t for me, the cinematography flourishes of cutting to 1st & 3rd person put it over the top. This one is solid #NickleBoys #MovieSky
