Enormous brooding banner of Trump hung alongside Lincoln at Department of Agriculture X users are scoffing at the banner, saying it has a ‘North Korean aesthetic’ and gives off ‘Saddam Hussein vibes’

Every Trump thumbnail gives him what he wants.

When so many articles come through our feed with his face on them:

It pushes the idea that he is more powerful than he is.

It fosters doomerism and despair.

It does exactly what he would ask the media to do.

Oh FFS please stop using Trump‘s face as the thumbnail photograph on articles! We are subjecting ourselves to the kind of hideous poster propaganda that he wants. #NoTrumpThumbnails

It strikes me that it's not much different than having to walk through a public square every day where the walls are plastered with The Dear Leader's image. #NoTrumpThumbnails

The psychological effect of a constant stream of thumbnails w/ Trump's face in our feeds cannot be good. When it's already hard to stay informed without getting demoralized, it would be helpful if media made other choices. A striking visual closer to the subject is often possible. #NoTrumpThumbnails

A reminder that even Trump's least offensive cabinet picks are terrible.

P.S. Please, every article about the administration doesn't need a pic of the orange guy. It's not good for us to have running feeds of his face every day.

When MAGA talks about civics education, they don't mean civics education. You can find what they mean in Project 1776 and Project 2025. #NoTrumpThumbnails www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/...

One of the small but important things media outlets can do, IMHO, to combat authoritarianism is to not put Mr. Orange in so many thumbnails. When they do, they contribute to a social media feed that looks like the statue and billboard-filled public square in a fascist state.

Vouchers are one prong – direct Christianizing and MAGAfying of public schools is the other. It can sound like hyperbole – but it is not.

This piece by @amandamarcotte.bsky.social explains. (I’m avoiding posting the orange man’s face #NoTrumpThumbnails.)

I'd like to get #NoTrumpThumbnails going and not click to upload thumbnails if the pic features him. We don't need to see repeated images of the guy in our feeds, IMO. I'm begging pubs to start using different images.

The sheer onslaught of news during the last Trump administration seemed to make every week feel like a month; the 2024 election itself feels almost like a distant memory now. Amid broader uncertainties there’s a comfort in the problems of the day—like a grotesque personnel announcement—being so comparatively discrete.

We can't tread water in a swamping ever-present but focus on the future.

There is a lot of focus on whether T can close the USDOE. But goal #1 is encouraging and funding vouchers (aka discouraging and defunding public schools) and further breaking down the wall between church and state. www.newsweek.com/donald-trump... #NoTrumpThumbnails
