It's supposed to be a supernatural romantic comedy, but I'm not worrying too much about the humor in the first draft. Still, some of the situations I planned were for comedic effect, and it turns out I've planned more humorous situations with the female cast than the male... #NotNaNoWriMo

That's the beginning of page 62. At this point, I have a list of 11 more "scenes" or scenarios or whatever that have to be hit to reach the ending I'm planning (originally almost 30, I've knocked most of them out). Maybe I need to add a few more scenes? Word count: 11,297 words. #NotNaNoWriMo

Lost Signals I don't know why I even bothered. Such a waste of time, space and emotions. And regret. Our journey is a 5 year round trip to the Cartwheel galaxy, at least, probably more. I think they said 5 years to make it look good. Five is an even uneven number. It doesn't sound too long, nor does it sound like a throwaway mission.

Distance It's quiet. Empty. Like the life aboard was all shifted down to the planet. Walking the corridors of the NEA Constellation as the survey teams are planet side, is like being back to when she was newly constructed. There's a chance you might run into someone checking readings, but most likely you'll wander for an hour and not see a living soul.

Beach Day The sky is blinding blue over the glistening sea. The desert rolled over dunes and skipped turning into a beach, having our vehicle get stuck halfway into the water. Onnimanni muttered a long phrase in Finnish and jumped into the surf to try to assess the damage. Noomi and I looked at each other. She gestured towards dry land and when I didn't move, she shrugged her shoulders and waded ashore.

Eight years ago, I finished #Nanowrimo on this day, 3 November (20K, 18K & 12K words, if you're wondering). I don't recommend trying this without a lot of practice.

Today, I'm at 7783, a nice place to be. Although sometimes I miss the days when writing was easy.

Not Bluebells The clearing is a perfect circle. We checked. It's actually a perfect circle. So it's clearly man made. Well, no. Not man made. Something else made. Unknown made. Alien made. But we're the aliens here. So I don't know what to call it. Artificial seems wrong too, because all the trees and the grass and the delicate blossoms are all natural.
