Yep. And it worked just fine.
And we were paid a very low wage.
I'm not saying that having a degree isn't an asset, but plenty of anecdotal evidence that some graduate nurses now feel they are "too posh to wash".

Outnumbered by patients, the ratio is all wrong so patient care isn’t top of the list, it’s a conveyor belt (much to the distress of most nurses and other staff!), to make sure they all look like they’re doing ‘great’ and top level management won’t then do anything to change it. #nursecheck #nhs

Was the guy a practicing nurse?
If not that's a huge oversight as a nursing associate is NOT the same as a qualified nurse.

Nursing is a rewarding but hard and tiring career and nurses need better support and to feel valued.
