A mourning cloak butterfly rests on the ground on some dead leaves. Its wings are spread open. The butterfly is a deep rich reddish-brown with two light yellow markings on each side at the top. Along the bottom is a band of pale yellow and just above that is a band of black with evenly spaced blue dots going all the way across.
