ITPGRFA #OEWG12 delegates agreed to proceed on the basis of a compromise proposal for a subscription system with two alternative benefit-sharing triggers: payment upon registration or payment upon commercialization.
On Tuesday, delegates at ITPGRFA #OEWG12 discussed developments on access and fair and equitable benefit-sharing related to genetic resources and digital sequence information #DSI under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the World Health Organization.
On the first day of #OEWG12 to Enhance the Functioning of the #ITPGRFA Multilateral System, delegates heard presentations on seed sector sales and profitability.
They also addressed the attractiveness of a proposed subscription system versus the predictability of funding.
