100,000 workers joined 400 women on #strike on #ThisDayInHistory in 1946. The #OaklandGeneralStrike saw #union workers seize the streets, closing businesses and keeping out non-union members. A carnival atmosphere filled the city centre... until they were betrayed by #AFL bosses.
