We're at sea with an almost unbroken view of the water and sky, save for a few tankers or cargo carriers almost on the horizon ahead of us and the start of a wind farm just coming into view in the distance on the left. The sky has large puffy clouds in places, mostly white but with some light grey on their left sides telling us the sun is coming from the right somewhere, and the blue where it shows is deep and warm so it feels like evening is approaching. The sea isn't quite flat but almost so, reflecting the whites of the clouds in long, striped lines towards us; its colour is nearly black close to us, shifting to a deep, almost metallic blue as it meets the sky midway. It's very quiet, very relaxing.
October 2022 and proof that the North Sea can be calm and relaxing for #MeerMittwoch this week. In case you need some calm and relaxing imagery right about now.

A clear blue sky, fading to a pale near-white at the horizon, sits above a blue sea, gently rippled but almost flat. Emerging from the right is a stone and concrete harbour wall that stretches straight out from some landmass to the right out of view, then angles slightly towards us and passes on the left. A triangular spit of land in the crook of the harbour wall's arm houses huge silos, three larger than a fourth, one wrapped in scaffolding. Small walls around the land shows signs of building upon them and the far harbour wall is lined with construction equipment. The bright, painted metal silos reflect on the rippled water's surface.
You can make industrial construction and storage look more appealing if you surround it by the sea. For #MeerMittwoch this is from the port of Leixões, near Porto in Portugal, from our visit there last month.

It's a bright, sunny day with a sky of pale blue dotted with puffy white clouds edged with a dark grey. We're standing near the tide line of a warm-toned, pebbled beach where it meets a choppy sea of deep turquoise. A roll of a small breaker is just foaming right where the water and land meet. Across the stretch of water there is a low line of dark land stretching across the full width of the horizon dotted with obvious signs of towns and isolated buildings along its coast. Between us and the far land mass there are numerous vessels on the water but two are prominent. Slightly further away there is a passenger car ferry, mostly white, turned three quarters away from us so that it appears squat and higher than looks safe. Between the ferry and us a hovercraft is leaving the beach, travelling from left to right but now turning leftwards to angle in the same direction as the larger ship, with a white wake rippled on the water and huge clouds of spray kicked up partly hiding one of the hovercraft's fans.
