Our resident "Betty Boop" and "Bimbo" couple (but cats) find themselves at the mercy of Old Crumplecranks, who's ready to unleash a spooky musical number upon them the likes of which you haven't seen since the Oogie Boogie Man from "A Nightmare Before Christmas" - which was, in itself, a homage to Cab Calloway's rotoscoped performance in classic Pre-Hays Code Era Fleischer cartoons from the early 1930's. Why does Alt Text have a lengthier word limit than regular posts!?
I'm particularly delighted by the cats-only episode which was made for animation historians/nerds such as myself. Almost every sequence is a direct homage to specific cartoons and films. The spirit of Cab Calloway from "Minnie the Moocher" and "Old Man of The Mountain" lives here.

I just marathoned the "Ollie & Scoops" series on YouTube. It is, in no uncertain terms, everything I could possibly desire from a cartoon: a cavalcade of zany antics, an encyclopedic compendium of references, both stylistic and frame-specific, fun characters and unwound animation.

2020- "Old Crumplecranks" from "Ollie & Scoops", had the best song. In fact, it's where I pulled a "Weird Al" in my Mugman themed Halloween comic, when Timothy T Cup was singing. Anywho, this is a drawing I did if Ollie got to meet him, and he tries to eat her. So Scoops and the cat in the "Marko" (Star vs the Forces of Evil) outfit (an homage to his voice actor) have to save her. As for the fish bone, I don't like seeing characters smoking, so I gave Mr. Crumplecranks an alternative.
2020- Well, looks like Old St.Nick visited "Crumpie", and give him a sweater.
