Kikola slid her hand down until it found the bare flesh of Tehvay's leg. Tehvay did not object, so Kikola slowly moved her hand up Tehvay's thigh. She felt Tehvay's muscles tense. 'Should I stop', thought Kikola.

#LesFicFri Hurt
"Did that make you feel better?" Rikana asked.
"Err… no."
"Good. Now you know why I don't care. Caring is difficult and it hurts."

#LesFicFri Wish
"I take it he's an officer. You should bring him home so that I can meet him."
"There is no 'him'. There is no man with whom I wish to spend time." Kikola waited for her mother to deduce what she was implying and anticipated an angry response.

#LesFicFri Please
"Please? I just want to feel you near me."
Tehvay climbed into bed and lay next to Kikola.
The last thing she remembered was reaching out and placing her arm over Kikola's stomach and Kikola's hand gently clutching at her fingers.

#LesFicFri Normal
It took a few moments for Kikola's muscles to unclench and for her breathing to return to normal – a few moments more before she could string together a few coherent words. "Who knew painting could feel this good."

Jenissa sat next to Ellovene, imitating her posture. It was cold, her legs ached, and she was bored.
Ellovene spoke. "Thank you."
"What for?"
"For not disturbing me, and not complaining," said Ellovene.
"We made a promise to help and support each other."
#OrionSpurSeries book 4 (WIP)
Cover of book 2 in the Orion Spur series. It shows Gral'hilanth wearing a grey military uniform standing behind a seated Ambra wearing a white jacket.
#LesFicFri Excite(d)
She heard the fast steps of Tehvay running down the stairs. Like an excited child, Kikola thought. I never ran downstairs as a child. It would have been undignified. I envy how Tehvay embraces simple joy.

#LesFicFri Help
Yozee stared at Kikola. "You don't think I had anything to do—"
"No. I know who is responsible. I do not have time for… you."
"Let me help you. If you need anything, just ask."
"You can do one thing."
"Anything."
"Leave."

Something to be revealed shortly.
#LesFicFri Skin
She wore the dark grey, woven metal, armoured uniform of an Elit military officer as if it were a second skin.

#LesFicFri Hair
She stroked Kikola's dark brown hair and kissed her temple. 'How can I explain it to her? That her touch doesn't excite me, no matter how much I want it to,' Tehvay thought. 'I can't tell her. She only wants to love me, and my broken soul won't allow it.'

#LesFicFri Touch
Kikola lay on her back and Tehvay moved to lie on top of her. They kissed again. Tehvay realised that she was holding both of Kikola's wrists in an effort to stop herself from being touched.
"Sorry," she said, as she pulled back and released her grip.

#LesFicFri Worry
Tehvay's eyes grew wider. "Were you in danger?"
"Do not worry. I am fine."
"Yes, but you might not have been."
"I have been in more dangerous situations." Kikola smiled reassuringly. "Your attempt to elicit more information will not succeed."

#LesFicFri Friends
Kikola took a moment to reflect on her new life. It was far from the life of privilege and purpose that had been her birthright. She had no family or friends, save the one person that mattered to her: Tehvay. Tehvay more than made up for what she had lost.

#LesFicFri Heart
Kikola's heart was pounding. Just a few more moments before she would be reunited with Tehvay, and could take her somewhere safe.

#LesFicFri Calm
A sudden twinge of fear filled Tehvay's chest – a remnant of past abuses by her former owners. She didn't flinch or pull away. She had learnt not to show any outward signs of discomfort. She breathed slowly to calm her heart rate.

My favourite bit of Book 4 WIP
"The important part to take away from it is, don't fuck her. Look, I get it. She has an amazing smile that, I admit, makes me a little damp. But there is more to this than just sticking bits of yourselves into each other."

#LesFicFri Trust
"I know you have no reason to trust what an owner says. Believe me, I am not saying this as your owner—"
"You are my owner," said Tehvay pointedly.
"I know," Kikola felt the sting of her reproach and looked towards the floor.

#LesFicFri Feelings
"When I saw you lying on the ground in all that blood. That is when my feelings became crystal clear. I understood that I didn't want to lose you; that you mean everything to me; that my life would feel incomplete without you in it."
#OrionSpurSeries Book 1
#LesFicFri Care
"It's not like you to not care about something."
"How do you do it?"
"Do what?"
"The not caring thing."

#LesFicFri Attraction
Kikola became lost in thought as she examined the sketch. It captured Tehvay's features perfectly: the gentleness of her eyes, the delicate strands of her hair, the fullness of her lips. She reached out and traced a line on the cheek.

From Book 2 #OrionSpurSeries
Kikola stared at the heavy cruiser. It was all straight lines and hard angles, looking as menacing as it was designed to be. Her mind should have been focussed on finding a way out of the situation. Instead, Kikola had one thought stuck in her mind. 'I have lost.'
