#OverallThoughts: Even though it leans more towards a comedic tone & has inconsistencies in Lang's accent & weak VFX, #SisuRoadToRevenge embraces the beautiful madness that was its predecessor & ramps it up to eleven.
Sisu: Road to Revenge
8/10
#OverallThoughts: Though a slight departure from the MCU's standard offerings, #WonderMan is an incredibly enjoyable series thanks to its simplicity and strong performances from Yahya Abdul-Mateen II & Sir Ben Kingsley.
Wonder Man
8.5/10
Gonna try to knock out a couple more #OverallThoughts post tomorrow.
The problem(?) is going to be that it's supposed to be 72° tomorrow. If it isn't cloudy, I may catch up on some reading outside.
#OverallThoughts: You know you aren't going to get a technically sound film whenever you see "The Asylum" at the beginning. With that said, #MonsterMash embraces its flaws & cranks out an okay laughably bad movie... Up until its last 20 mins when it devolves into a sloppy mess.
Monster Mash
4/10
#OverallThoughts: If you're a fan of BTAS, I strongly suggest you check out #Batman&RobinYearOne by @markwaid.bsky.social , @chrissamnee.bsky.social & Matheus Lopes as it's the perfect definition of a Home Run.
Batman & Robin: Year One
10/10
#OverallThoughts: Running 90 minutes (& on a $25 million budget), #Nobody2 is a "turn your brain off & enjoy" type movie that tries to recapture the energy that worked in the first. However, its weak story, VFX, disorienting camerawork & leaning too heavy on the comedy hurt it.
Nobody 2
6/10
#OverallThoughts: Recycling from better movies, #WarMachine tries its best to live up to them but falls a bit short. Moments of shaky, weak VFX, a weird rollercoaster pacing, & predictability keep it from rising above a "it's fine" level.
War Machine (2026)
6/10
#OverallThoughts: Containing the Absolute Zero & Abomination arcs of Snyder/Dragotta's #AbsoluteBatman run, Vol. 2 continues to embrace the visceral nature of this universe & is fucking bonkers. There are still some pacing issues for me, but damn is it fun.
Absolute Batman Vol. 2: Abomination
9/10
#OverallThoughts: Starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas & Karl Urban, Amazon's #TheBluff is a generic film at best. Neither good nor bad, it just sort of exists as background noise & completely wastes the training Chopra Jonas & Urban put in to the fighting choreography.
The Bluff
6/10
#OverallThoughts: @ssnyder1835.bsky.social & @nickdragotta.bsky.social 's first volume of #AbsoluteBatman - The Zoo - is a really solid introduction to this Universe's Batman. However, the quickened pace throws me a bit, & I wish Black Mask was used more.
Absolute Batman Vol 1: The Zoo

#OverallThoughts: I really enjoyed Prey and Killer of Killers (though that does stumble in the final segment), so I was going to see #PredatorBadlands regardless. Truth be told, though I liked it, it is definitely flawed in its writing, VFX & shaky cam usage.
Predator: Badlands
7/10
#OverallThoughts: Starring Jason Momoa & Dave Bautista Amazon's #TheWreckingCrew is definitely dumb fun. The film, however, stumbles from its generic plot, bad VFX, hit or miss humour & use of disorienting shaky cam.
The Wrecking Crew (2026)
6/10
#OverallThoughts: As I find the original films amusing, I was going to see 2023's #TheToxicAvenger regardless. Sadly, I thought the trailer was terrible... and yet, somehow, everything I hated in the trailer ended up being the film's saving graces as most of it doesn't work.
The Toxic Avenger
5/10
#OverallThoughts: DC's #SupermanBirthright - by Waid, Yu & Alanguilan - is a solid modernization of Superman's origin. With that said, it does have some issues with its pacing & artwork.
Admittedly, I'm not high on Yu's style. Here, though, there's times it works & other when it doesn't.
8/10
I will be doing my #OverallThoughts at some point in the future for all seasons
#OverallThoughts: Wonky motion controls, a few frustrating levels, and a disorienting camera (which you have control of) doesn't stop #CaptainToadTreasureTracker from being a fun & adorable puzzler.
It's also hilarious that Toad headbangs Toadette's vagina.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
8/10
#OverallThoughts: Collecting the twelve issue main run (& two other stories) by Warren Ellis & Bryan Hitch, #TheAuthorityRelentless has its issues (pacing, some artwork inconsistencies) but, ultimately, is a fun time for the $10 Compact Comics price tag.
The Authority: Relentless
7/10
#OverallThoughts: After a dev cycle that saw Nintendo scrap progress from one studio (Bandai Namco) & turn to the original dev studio (Retro), #MetroidPrime4Beyond is a beautiful & enjoyable game. Unfortunately, it really lacks enemies & has frustrating aiming issues.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
7.5/10
#OverallThoughts: Still one of the best entries in the franchise, #MetroidPrimeRemastered is a beautiful "glow-up" w/minor setbacks (control inputs not always registering) that ultimately leaves you hoping the next two installments see the same treatment.
Metroid Prime Remastered
9/10
#OverallThoughts: Playing out a lot like a vast majority of Toho's Godzilla films, #Troll2 (not that one, the Netflix one) wants you to enjoy your time with its 1h44m runtime. Much like those Godzilla films, it plays it fast & loose... & it doesn't always work.
Troll 2
6/10
#OverallThoughts: If you could say one good thing about #Playdate it would be: it's always a good time watching Alan Ritchson tossing people around. Sadly, that's as far as the praise goes as the rest of the film - acting, camerawork, editing, pacing, story & VFX - is in shambles.
Playdate
4/10
#OverallThoughts: Marvel's #TheFantasicFourFirstSteps is a fine enough addition to the MCU that sees issues stemming from hit or miss VFX & a rushed pacing thanks to a story that isn't fully fleshed out.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
6.5/10
#OverallThoughts: Jon M. Chu's #NowYouSeeMe2 is a better film - albeit slightly - than its predecessor. A majority of the film is good enough to overlook the flaws (shaky camerawork, predictable twists),but the third act is where it unravels by indulging Orci/Kurtzman.
Now You See Me 2
6.5/10
#OverallThoughts: 2013's #NowYouSeeMe has elements that make it an entertaining film. The problems, however, arise from the film's producers - Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman - having worked w/ JJ Abrams too long & thinking lens flares, weak VFX, shaky cam & a lame twist are cool.
Now You See Me
6/10
#OverallThoughts: Guy Ritchie's #TheMinistryofUngentlemanlyWarfare has its fair share of flaws (weak VFX, shaky cam & an unbalanced tone) thanks to a $60 million budget but, somehow, ends up being an enjoyable film.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
7/10
#OverallThoughts: Ubisoft/Netflix's latest collaboration sees a return to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise. Unfortunately, though, #SplinterCellDeathWatch lacks oomph. From the VA, writing (predictable twist included) & animation, the season just kind of exists.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch
6/10
#OverallThoughts: Taking a stab at adapting the "Parker" series, Shane Black's #PlayDirty is a Shane Black Movie through & through (IYKYK). Sadly, however, this is one of his lesser ones as it struggles to find a proper balance & has multiple sequences that just look bad.
Play Dirty
5/10
#OverallThoughts: To me, the #DangerousAnimals trailer made me think it wasn't going to be worth the time... Aside from it running longer than it probably should have & a couple scenes (especially towards the end) not looking great, the result is a solid surprise.
Dangerous Animals
8/10
#OverallThoughts: With Dominion being a mess of a film, #JurassicWorldRebirth had an uphill bottle in finding success; which it does to varying degrees as the film - though enjoyable - fizzles out towards the end & has inconsistencies in the VFX.
Jurassic World Rebirth
7/10
