Rex is a worrier and was very trepidatious about sex; mostly cultural (thanks to basically-a-drow society model), but also he is um... he's aware of his general size lets say lol. So it was a very slow/gradual process over a few years getting to the point where he was comfortable with it, that was filled with a *lot* of checking-in and reassurance.
