Book cover Title: Booked for Murder, a mystery Author: P. J. Nelson *****Book review***** The Cat Is in the Curtains There were moments that I loved, and moments that drove me so crazy I considered not finishing it. In hindsight, maybe I should have DNF'd. Alas, it's done. I've finished it, and I know that the person I suspected was the evilest of the evil doers. My favorite character, you might wonder? Cannonball. Hands down. No questions. Why not the leading lady, Madeline Brimley? She's the one who drove me to the brink of insanity. I'm sorry, but... I just can't. As cute as the potential romantic connection with handyman David Madison is, or hear me out, fireman Captain Mike Jordan, it isn't enough to keep her in my good graces. I'm all for a bit of comedic walking disasters, but she didn't achieve that level. The mystery itself is intriguing, but the half-cocked actions of Madeline are too much. I don't think I'll continue the series, but I know myself well enough to avoid ruling it out. I borrowed the audio book. I like the narrator, Hallie Bee Bard, and hope to encounter her again. π§π§‘π§ Story: 3 stars Narration: 3.5 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x

I probably should've listened to my gut in chapter 2. π€·ββοΈ This won't make my books to re-read list.
