#PLANTWorkshop 2025: Days 9&10
Final sessions gave insights on #plantscience, biotech & sustainability👇
Day 9 (Apr 3)
🔬 Wout Boerjan (VIB/Ghent) showed how Arabidopsis research leads to poplar trees for biorefining
🧪 Anne Osbourn (JIC) wowed us wi the power of plant metabolites for food & health
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, to end with an optimistic vision, see the workshop poster and its transformation (by G. Krouk) for the possible evolution of the Anthropocene, and the place of plants, agriculture and scientists in this evolution ! Thanks to all participants !
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, and Olivier Martin (IPS2, IPA, SPS, Paris-Saclay) closed the workshop with interesting discussions about organizing new meetings at IPA and the expected outputs of the workshop
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, then Wolfang Busch (@rootstrapping.bsky.social) gave the final presentation, bringing the workshop about "Harnessing Plants for Direct Carbon Removal: Generating Long-Lived Soil Carbon"
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, we had the two last, but not the least, talks Friday morning ! First Kazuki Saito gave a great talked about "The challenge of phytochemical genomics in the Anthropocene"
,
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, Marie-Cécile Damave, @MarieCecile75, "A land-based bioeconomy, enabling farming resilience"

🌱 #PLANTWorkshop – Days 7 & 8 Recap 🌿
As the workshop continued, we explored a wide range of topics, from breeding for agroecological transitions to the wider role of plant microbiota and metabolites .
🌍 Day 7 began with A Dejardin and∑, both discussing the potential of forgotten crops.

#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, the day ended with a dinner (It was Anne birthday ;-)!)
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, interesting discussions about innovation in the "cathedral"
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, Sylvie Dinant and Loïc Rajjou talked about innovation and organised discussions on this topic
#PlantWorkshop at @spsplantsciences.bsky.social, Gabriek Krouk, @gabkrouk.bsky.social, gave a talk on "Examples of machine learning to advance (plant) biology" (in fact about different very interesting topics !) and then transformed our workshop with AI ;-)!
