Pacific Banana Slugs are known to eat slime mold, so these round brown Wolf's Milk Slime Mold could be a snack for this massive solid dark green specimen when they wake up from their nap.

I believe this was post coitus but I'm not a slug sex expert. I especially loved how one of them had so many spots and the other was only green really going for that Yin-yang look, albeit unintentionally. If only the green one also had a singular spot on their mantel.
Last one! While it's one of my favorite shots, the subjects aren't everyone's cup-o-tea.

Slowly crawling across this mossy mound.
Hiding out napping under the leaves.
Napping on a cedar tree.
More #PacificBananaSlug & still not a brown spot in sight.
Thinking back, I can't remember seeing a single spot on any of the dozens I saw this weekend across several locations on the N Olympic Peninsula. #Moss
I suppose the spots just don't help with camouflage in the areas I visited. #Nature
Crawling down a moss covered tree trunk headed for a nap in the leaves?
Crawling up the cracks in this trunk.
Just peeking out from under a tuft of moss growing on this conifer.
Napping on this twig, doesn't seem like the best hiding spot to sleep in but who am I to judge. Maybe that's why they don't have spots.
So many Pacific Banana Slugs, Ariolimax columbianus, and not a brown spot in sight!
They were so plentiful that I finally did the unthinkable and passed a dozen+ by without so much as a second glance, just a curt little wave of acknowledgement and on my way. #PacificBananaSlug #Nature
A few more π
A Large Pacific Banana slug slumbers all curled up, in what looks like would be an uncomfortable position were they to have bones. Their black patterns on dark green-yellow skin reminds me of a rorschach test. They're taking a break from munching on the Russula fungi they are using for shelter. The slugs are mainly focusing on the gills so far but that's likely because of ease of access. Focus Stacked composite of 33 images.
Found this cutie all curled-up, napping under a Russula they'd just been munching on. Rest up little buddy. Days are only getting longer from here. #PacificBananaSlug #Fungi

A Pacific Banana Slug without any visible spots taking their afternoon nap in the forest. Probably on the hunt for one of the many yummy fungus I spotted nearby. The slug is roughly 3 inches long while scrunched up like this. It's enjoying life in a mixed forest healthy understory of huckleberries, Salal and ample mosses.
Look at this adorable #PacificBananaSlug taking their afternoon nap.
Sleep well little buddy, may you find many a yummy mushroom to chomp on. #Nature

Did I just witness an attempted slug-o-cide!? The monster #PacificBananaSlug just slid right over the much smaller one that rightly fled.
That's after the slug-buddies slimed up the unlucky(?) Chocolate Tube #SlimeMold.
They're just soaking up all all the moisture they can get! #Nature ππΈ

This Pacific Banana Slug, snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug, napped the day away, not a care in the world to be had. Good for you lad(y).

I spent a few minutes today observing this curious Pacific Banana Slug as it explored the base of a pine.
If you turn on the audio, you'll hear the pitter-patter of the rain falling on the Salal leaves and a Douglas Squirrel chattering in the beginning. π±
