Impressionistic image of a bare sycamore tree trunk and its major branches, as seen looking from the ground up near (but not directly at) the base of the tree. It took about 600-750 hand-cut and individually-pasted scraps of paper to create this collage. Painterly collage by Deborah Eater: "Sycamore (March Morning)" created in 2014, 10" x 8" (25 cm x 20 cm), buffered, de-acidified magazine clippings on archival mat board. This sycamore tree has stood on my property since the 1950's. I see it outside my kitchen window every morning and watch the seasons work their way across it every day as I go through my morning routine.

Road cuts revealing folded rock strata are common on newer highways. Fallen or falling rocks rare (although the warning signs are not), but they add interest to the piece. Made of de-acidified clippings from magazines and clothing catalogs on canvas-covered board, using about 900 individually-pasted pieces in all.
