A large duck with mostly white feathers and dark brown patches is standing on a small rock in a green, reflective pond, resting with its head tucked back into its plumage. The duck’s reflection is clearly visible in the rippling water, which is dotted with floating leaves and tiny bits of pond vegetation, while tall, grass-like plants and two other darker water birds appear in the background.
I think this is a snoozing Muscovy Duck. At the #Palmetum in #Tenerife 🇪🇸 a couple of moorhens too.

the gigantic palm Tahina Spectabilis was only discovered in 2007. it grows exclusively in a small area on Madagascar. only about 90 specimens exist. plus 3 in the #Palmetum park on #Tenerife. its leaves are very rigid, like thin wood.
