Kirkland & Ellis Supports Record-Breaking ENGIE Battery Storage Partnership with CBRE Investment Management
Kirkland & Ellis recently provided legal counsel to CBRE Investment Management in a significant partnership with ENGIE North America. The agreement involves a portfolio of battery storage assets totaling 2.4 gigawatts, strategically located in both Texas and California. This deal marks one of ENGIE's most substantial operating portfolio partnerships within the U.S. and represents a major transaction within the battery storage sector.
ENGIE will maintain a controlling stake in this substantial portfolio and will continue its role in the operation and management of the assets. The portfolio comprises 31 operational projects currently providing power within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and California Independent System Operator (CAISO) regions.
