However, I feel obliged to state up front that it might not be for everyone. Yes, there is a central murder mystery, but that was overshadowed (in my opinion) by the animals. That factor might be a plus for some readers, while other readers might find that the plot was bogged down by the constant referral to the animals/dogs that permeated the novel.
