Anyway, the point behind my #PedigreeMD effort is not just to rehabilitate Landscape pedigrees - it's to make it easier to note down pedigrees in an electronic record while you're actually in clinic, and for that note to be computable for programs like CanRISK, or pedigree charting like PhenoTips.

Much of this was taken from the data on Shannon Selin's site: https://shannonselin.com/extras/napoleons-family-tree/ and I would like to credit her for putting this together. This format is easily readable, but does get a bit crazy with families with multiple sibships and siblings, so there's a bit of getting used-to. The benefit of PedigreeMD is that it is VERY easy to learn and to use in a live clinic environment. This is still quite an early stage in the project, and I still need to develop a parser to turn these files into something recognisable by more established software systems. The purpose of #PedigreeMD is to create a very easy and fast format for #Genetics & #Genomics doctors, nurses, counsellors etc to rapidly note down a family tree (pedigree) in a plain text editor, text box, EHR etc. This saves faffing with a mouse, so you give your attention to the patient.
