Prices skyrocket but major fuel shortages "very unlikely"
Prices skyrocket but major fuel shortages "very unlikely" Petrol and diesel prices are sky high because of the illegal US-Israel war on Iran, but major fuel shortages in Australia are very unlikely.  Matt Grudnoff and Ebony Bennett discuss Australia’s relatively strong position in global energy supply chains. Matt explains why some petrol stations have run low despite overall fuel supplies remaining steady, how the price hikes are fuelling inequality, and why Scott Morrison’s 2021 claim about an electric vehicle policy putting an “end to the weekend” now looks even more absurd than it did at the time. This episode was recorded on Tuesday 31 March. You can sign the Australia Institute’s petition (https://nb.australiainstitute.org.au/gas_export_tax_b) calling on the federal government to make gas exporters pay their fair share. Needed to charge car, nearest charging unit inaccessible as forecourt’s closed due to #PetrolShortages. Managed to charge elsewhere, drove to nearby 24-hour Tesco to get essentials - couldn’t even get into car park due to long petrol queues, at 1230am. Hard not to feel bewildered

Northern Ireland not experiencing same fuel shortages as rest of UK | The Irish Post NORTHERN IRELAND is not currently experiencing the wave of panic-buying which has hit large parts...

I don't believe NI have a hugely different MSM from the one which allegedly worsened the #PetrolShortages here... by *reporting* on them
(and there was me thinking it was their actual job!)
So what could the difference be? 🤔
